Job Summary

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world’s largest companies.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Supplier Development Engineer located in Blackburn.

Reporting to the Senior Strategic Supply Chain Manager, you will provide cross-functional support to select, approve, and develop suppliers to meet customer and business needs.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Supplier Selection: Select suitable suppliers through joint efforts of sourcing, considering quality, capability, pricing, delivery, environment, social regulation, etc., against customer requirements.
  • Supplier Qualification: Implement new supplier qualification through capability matching, risk assessment, self-assessment, onsite audits, and database management.
  • VEA (Value-Added Engineering Activity): Understand customer drawings and specifications to provide value-added engineering proposals for process or product optimization.
  • Material (Component) Qualification: Implement PPAP including FAI, certificates, control plans, FMEA, MSA, RoHS compliance, reliability tests, COC, etc.
  • Pilot Run Tracking: Monitor the quality performance of new parts during pilot runs, drive corrective actions, and ensure smooth transfer to mass production.
  • Performance Tracking: Rate and track supplier performance, driving continuous improvement.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Supplier Development Engineer
  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Quality qualification is an advantage
  • Strong technical, investigative, and initiative skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
