Supplier Assurance and Raw Material Specification Technologist
Salary: Up to £32,000
Location: Nottingham (Office-based, not hybrid)

We are seeking a Supplier Assurance and Raw Material Specification Technologist to join our dynamic Technical team. This role is crucial for ensuring that all approved suppliers and raw materials meet stringent technical, legal, and customer standards. Ideal candidates will possess a blend of technical expertise, exceptional interpersonal skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, managing risk assessments for both suppliers and raw materials.
- Collaborate with customer technical contacts to bolster confidence in our supply chain controls.
- Work closely with HR to assess any risks to supplier or customer ethical compliance.
- Support cross-functional teams, including technical, procurement, and new product development (NPD), in sourcing and supplying raw materials, both samples and bulk.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the approved supplier list, ensuring current due diligence documentation and accuracy of the raw material product list and risk assessments.
- Manage vulnerability assessments, address raw material queries, and utilise industry software like Horizon Scanning.
- Support technical and site teams during audits and customer visits.
- Engage in other technical project work as needed, reflecting the evolving nature of the role and industry expectations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 months experience in the food industry, preferably within food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of food and drink labelling regulations; formal training is beneficial but not essential.
- Certifications in HACCP and Food Safety Level 3.
- Familiarity with TACCP/VACCP systems.
- Proficiency in IT software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks with conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.
- Proactive, independent work ethic, with effective collaboration when needed.
- Strong attention to detail with a "Right First Time" approach.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing regulatory and operational needs.
