Job summary

St Marys CofE Primary School in Shrewsbury is seeking a part-time Supervisory Assistant for two vacancies. The role covers 1 hour per day, 5 hours per week, at £12.85 per hour, supporting school pupils during lunchtime and in playground areas.

You will help supervise pupil safety, promote positive behaviour, assist with first aid where trained, and report safeguarding concerns to appropriate staff, ensuring an engaging and safe lunchtime environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervising pupils in dining halls, playgrounds, and other designated areas.
• Ensuring the safety and welfare of all children at all times.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and reinforcing school expectations.
• Supporting children in developing social skills, friendships, and cooperative play.
• Managing minor incidents, disputes, and accidents appropriately.
• Promoting inclusion and ensuring all pupils are engaged and supported.
• Reporting safeguarding, behavioural, health, or welfare concerns to appropriate staff.
• Assisting with first aid procedures in line with school policies (where trained).
• Helping maintain a clean, orderly, and safe lunchtime environment.
