Job Title: Supervisor, Production

What we’re looking for:

The Supervisor, Production provides leadership to team leads and a team of hourly production employees, ensuring the team meets production targets safely, on time, and to established quality standards.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

  1. Provide leadership to team leads and front-line hourly production team members; ensure a safe work environment, define expectations, provide resources, coach/teach/train associates, ensure accountability, and provide feedback.
  2. Develop, implement, and audit daily standard work.
  3. Drive a culture of continuous improvement; conduct root cause analysis and develop/implement corrective action plans.
  4. Maintain production schedule, meeting both quality and productivity requirements.
  5. Maintain good inventory control procedures for all raw material that may be required in assignment department(s).
  6. Partner with supply chain, quality, shipping, and other departments to ensure the team meets production targets safely, on time, and to established quality standards.
  7. Ensure timely response to operational issues impacting customer expectations and project cycle time performance.
  8. Be knowledgeable of company policies and engage appropriate resources (HR, Safety, etc.) when required to handle issues that arise.
  9. Support, communicate, implement, sustain, and consistently enforce all company policies/procedures.
  10. Build and sustain good morale and attitudes among all reporting associates.
  11. Initiate requisitions for open positions. Interview and determine best candidate for position.
  12. Document associate skills and knowledge to create a skills matrix of employee training needs and accomplishments.
  13. Ability to capture/analyze data regarding productivity - Understand through observations the causes for high and low productivity.
  14. Understand production requirements and direct resources appropriately to procure shipment items.
  15. Communicate decisions with data and documentation.
  16. Maintain accurate timekeeping in ADP for all assigned direct reports.
  17. Enforce safety rules, practices and procedures to assure safety of associates, buildings, grounds and machinery.
  18. Other duties as assigned.

What are the basic qualifications?

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership position (team lead, team captain, supervisor, shift lead, etc.)
  3. Minimum 1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.

What are the preferred qualifications?

  1. Two years’ experience with 5S, Lean/Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  2. Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Able to interact and work effectively with employees at levels of the organization.
  5. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Must be willing to work extended and/or weekend hours when required.
