Job description

Location: HMP Dartmoor, Tavistock Rd, Princetown, Yelverton PL20 6RR
Salary: £39,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, full-time, 39 hours per week, plus on-call occasionally

We are seeking a Plumber with experience leading teams to join our team at HMP Dartmoor, a category C adult male prison. Join a supportive and driven team working Monday to Friday to create a safe environment. HMP Dartmoor operates like a self-contained town, requiring a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Team to ensure smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all committed to making a positive difference. Required qualifications and experience:

1. Five years’ experience as a plumber or equivalent
2. Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
3. Experience with commercial/industrial heating and water or building services systems
4. Supervisory experience
5. Plumber qualified to C&G 6035, C&G 6189, and NVQ level 3 or equivalent

Desirable qualifications:

• First Aid at Work (up-to-date)
• Facilities management or project management qualifications
