Supervisor Mechanical - Dartmoor

Location: HMP Dartmoor, Tavistock Rd, Princetown, Yelverton PL20 6RR

Salary: £39,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full-time, 39 hours per week, with occasional on-call duties

Job Description:

We are seeking a Mechanical Supervisor with experience leading teams to join our team at HMP Dartmoor, a category C adult male prison. Join a supportive team working Monday to Friday to create a safe and nurturing environment. HMP Dartmoor operates like a self-contained town, requiring hundreds of staff to ensure its smooth functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, you will contribute to the safe operation of the facility, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment. Responsibilities and Requirements:

• At least five years’ experience as a plumber or equivalent
• Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
• Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water, or building services systems
• Supervisory experience
• Qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), and NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
• Up-to-date First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)
• Relevant professional qualifications (facilities management/project management) (desirable)
• Good Health & Safety knowledge
• Excellent organizational, time management, and people skills
