Supervisor Generalist (Soft Services Supervisor)

Location: HMP Winchester, Romsey Rd, Winchester, SO22 5DF

Salary: £34,931.68 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full-time 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on-site

We are seeking an experienced and driven Soft Services Team Leader or Facilities Administrator to join our team at HMP Winchester, a men's prison and young offender institution (YOI), as a Supervisor Generalist.

Join a team that works Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven family, working together to create a safe and nurturing environment.

HMP Winchester operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, your work will impact prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community, ensuring smooth and safe operations.

As a General Supervisor, you will work alongside experienced colleagues such as Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a safe environment.

You will be responsible for supervising soft services employees such as Cleaners and Escorts, managing Sub-Contractor access and inductions for temporary works. Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll collaborate with the Electrical and Mechanical Supervisor to maintain compliance, critical works, employee well-being, and safety.
