Job Role: Electrical Supervisor
Location: HMP High Down
Salary: £45,000 + an additional £2,500 in allowances per year
Contract: Full Time - Perm

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at HMP High Down, a category C male adult prison. Join a team that is more than just colleagues – we work Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven family, creating a safe and nurturing environment. HMP High Down operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to keep it functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, you will help ensure smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

As an Electrical Supervisor, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference. We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS, seeking an Electrical Supervisor with the following qualifications:

  • Five years’ experience as an electrician or equivalent
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical, building services
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Full driving license, preferably with D1
  • C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
  • Certificate in BS7671 - The Requirements For Electrical Installations
  • 17th or 18th Edition
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills
