Role within Ted's Team

The Deputy Manager partners with the management team to meet KPIs and inspire the team. In the absence of the Location Manager, they manage the store, identify growth opportunities, and promote Ted’s ethos and strategy as an ambassador.

Main Responsibilities

People

  • Partner with the Location Manager and management team
  • Promote respect, team participation, and a positive work environment

  • Handle recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff
  • Inspire team to deliver excellent customer service with passion
  • Provide feedback on team performance
  • Motivate and incentivize staff to excel

Product

  • Maintain knowledge of current season products and stock details
  • Implement merchandising, replenishment, and housekeeping standards
  • Utilize commercial tools to optimize product presentation and performance

Commercial

  • Ensure team demonstrates customer engagement principles (GOTFAT)
  • Engage with Ted’s social media and understand local market trends
  • Coach team to meet performance targets and foster customer connection
  • Assist in managing store profit and loss
  • Capture customer data effectively and analyze market insights
  • Monitor competitors and market conditions
  • Embrace digital initiatives to enhance sales and brand profile

Operations

  • Ensure store administration and systems are followed
  • Understand business systems like Teds Vault, AX, SharePoint
  • Drive operational KPIs and manage costs
  • Maintain health & safety, security, and loss prevention standards
