Job Description:

The Patient Account Services (PAS) Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Revenue Cycle Organization or Patient Account Services department within Laboratory Services. This role is responsible for implementing comprehensive quality management programs that comply with standard operating procedures and the regulations of certifying, licensing, and accrediting agencies.

The Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Revenue Cycle Organization. This role is responsible for implementing quality management programs that comply with the department’s standard operating procedures.

Essential Functions

  1. Identifies and drives quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  2. Establishes mechanisms to design, measure, maintain, and improve the performance and quality of department services.
  3. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs.
  4. Directs human resource functions such as interviewing, selection, orientation, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation and policy and procedure development.
  5. Develop best practices to drive greater performance and productivity. Develops strategies to meet RSC (Revenue Service Center) cash projections and reduce days in accounts receivable and reduce denials.
  6. Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health.

Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma
  2. 3 Years of work-related experience in Revenue Cycle claims, billing, and insurance follow up.
  3. 2 Years of supervisory experience Preferred.
  4. HFMA Certification.
  5. 4 Years of work-related experience in Revenue Cycle claims, billing, and insurance follow up.
  6. Epic systems Experience.
  7. Experience in Home Health Billing.

Physical Requirements

  1. Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  2. Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  3. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
  4. May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs, when the leader takes clinical shifts.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
