Job description

We are currently looking to add Supervisor / Bartender to our team at the Keeper’s House, located within the Royal Academy of Arts, London, to deliver a world-class guest experience.

The Keeper's House combines art and hospitality, creating a “home away from home” for Friends of the RA, Patrons, Royal Academicians, and visitors. It features a café, a members' room, and a cozy bar with its own secret garden. The walls display a revolving program of RA Editions, showcasing works for sale from Academicians and invited artists.

Package Description
  • 35–40 hours per week
  • £16 per hour plus a share of the service charge
  • Immediate start available
Main Responsibilities
  • Supervise and ensure smooth daily operation of the bar as part of the front-of-house team
  • Provide excellent customer service with a helpful and dedicated approach
  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures of the bar, following company policies
  • Manage stock inventory effectively
  • Use upselling skills to engage the team and drive sales towards targets
  • Collaborate with the catering team to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Adhere to all H&S regulations, including food safety, allergen awareness, COSHH, and HACCP
  • Enhance the quality of life for our guests
The Ideal Candidate
  • Comply with all company and client policies, including health & safety, hygiene, and fire regulations, with awareness of workplace hazards
  • Complete and update relevant checklists regularly
  • Ensure sufficient staffing to maintain smooth operations at Keeper’s House
  • Experience with till reconciliation
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, appearance, and cleanliness
  • Communicate effectively, demonstrating friendly, polite, and efficient service
  • Participate in training and team meetings as required
  • Promote harmonious team relationships
  • Report and address customer complaints or compliments appropriately
  • Immediately report incidents such as accidents, theft, or irregularities
  • Follow all rules and regulations
