Supervisor - Audit

Department: Advice, Audit & Accounts

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Heathrow

Compensation: GBP 54,000 - GBP 58,000 / year

Description

You will be part of a tight-knit team, working directly with Partners and Directors, to provide client focused and commercially aware services in an efficient and professional manner.

You will mentor, train and manage junior members of staff to enable them to develop, progress and reach their potential, with the option of being involved in formal training if desired.

You will be assigned a Partner mentor to help you work on your personal career development with progression opportunities available at all levels.

You will actively promote and market the firm and its services, to attract new clients and retain and develop relationships with existing clients, with the opportunity to specialise in specific sectors.

Your role will be audit focused while getting exposure to wider business advisory work as required , including accounts preparation, tax compliance and ad hoc services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Involvement in planning, supervising, and carrying out full end-to-end audit;
  • Responsibility for achieving agreed budgets and meeting deadlines;
  • Supervision of the audit team on-site, including review of the work of juniors and assisting junior team members with technical accounting and audit questions;
  • Drafting recommendations to management following audit fieldwork completion;
  • Drafting of close out audit meeting agenda and points for discussion;
  • Preparation of accounts of companies, groups of companies, partnerships and LLP's together with tax computations;
  • Close liaison with clients, and other stakeholders, often direct contact at Partner and Director Levels;
  • Motivation and encouragement of team, providing timely and constructive feedback;
  • Providing a personal, professional, speedy and efficient service to the firm's clients;
  • Other general practice work as required e.g. accounts preparation, preparation of tax computations and Corporation Tax returns (CT600);
Practice Development
  • Promoting the interests of the firm with all employed by the firm, clients, prospective clients and other third parties;
  • Identifying business development opportunities with clients and progressing these in liaison with Partner/Director;
  • Internal networking to get to know your team and the wider firm including specialist services.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Qualified to ACA/ACCA or internationally recognised chartered accounting qualification;
  • Experience leading audits;
  • Technically competent including solid experience and understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and UK Auditing standards;
  • Experience of Caseware Audit, CCH Accounts Production, Xero accounting, Quickbooks and Alphatax, Office 365 would be desirable;
  • Excellent communicator - able to get on with clients and your team;
  • Adaptable and able to show initiative;
  • Personable and confident - clients should feel confident of their ability to relate to them;
  • Organised, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise work;
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Experience in both substantive and controls based audits, group reporting and cross border groups;
  • Commitment to client care and service beyond expectation;
  • Commitment to audit quality and attention to detail;
  • High level of personal motivation and drive, and ability to motivate and encourage others.
