Job summary

MSS Infrastructure is seeking experienced Earthworks, Groundworks and Plant Supervisors to join our team on a major HS2 project in Water Orton and the wider Midlands area. You will supervise and coordinate earthworks, drainage and plant teams on site, ensuring works meet drawings, specs and tolerances.

The role requires CSCS (Gold or Black), SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid, with the ability to manage daily tasks, coordinate with Site Managers and subcontractors, and maintain safe working practices.

Qualifications

• CSCS (Gold or Black) card required.
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate earthworks, groundworks and plant teams on site.
• Allocate daily tasks and manage the workforce effectively.
• Oversee excavation, drainage and general groundworks activities.
• Coordinate with Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors.
• Monitor progress and productivity against the programme.
• Carry out toolbox talks and daily briefings.
• Ensure RAMS, permits and site procedures are understood and followed.
• Maintain safe working environment and monitor health and safety standards.
• Report progress, issues and material requirements to Site Management.

About the Role

• Supervise and coordinate earthworks, groundworks and plant teams.

• Supervise plant and machinery working on site.
• Ensure works are completed to drawings, specifications and required tolerances.
• Coordinate with Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors.
• Monitor progress and productivity against the programme.
• Carry out daily briefings and toolbox talks where required.
• Ensure RAMS, permits and site procedures are understood and followed.
• Monitor health and safety standards and challenge unsafe working practices.
• Ensure excavations, access routes and working areas are maintained safely.
• Assist with setting out and checking levels where required.
• Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure defects are addressed.
• Report progress, issues, delays and material requirements to Site Management.
• Maintain accurate records and complete relevant site documentation.
• Coordinate plant, materials and labour to ensure efficient working.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

Experience with plant and machinery, CSCS (Gold or Black), SMSTS or SSSTS experience working on site in a civils environment.
