Job summary

North Devon District Council is seeking a Supervisor in Barnstaple to lead a team delivering frontline service across operational areas. You will organise staff and equipment, supervise refuse and recycling collection, toilet cleaning and street sweeping, and provide technical support to ensure efficient, customer-focused service delivery on a daily basis.

This permanent, full-time role is on-site with a salary of £28,598 - £34,434.

Summary

The post holder is a member of a team of generic supervisors who deliver the overall managerial support and leadership across operational service delivery; reporting direct to the Operations Manager.

In particular, the postholder will have day to day responsibility for the organisation of staff/ plant and equipment and the deployment of the resources to provide customer focused service delivery.

To support the delivery of the aims and objectives contained the Operational Services Service Plan.

To provide supervision and technical support to all refuse, recycling collection, or toilet cleaning and street sweeping services staff for the purpose of maximising efficiency and effectiveness & dealing with operational issues which occur throughout the day.

To put the customer at the centre of everything you do.

Directly accountable for an individual service delivery section as well as providing support and cover across the entire unit.
