Job Description:
  • Work with a specialist team of Social Workers and Practitioners to deliver a high-quality service to Suffolk Foster carers.
  • Provide statutory supervision and support to foster carers.
  • Facilitate support groups and learning opportunities for foster carers.
  • Receive regular reflective supervision and peer group supervision.
  • Contribute creative and innovative ideas to improve practice within a well-established and supportive team.
  • Work closely with the Therapeutic team to promote trauma-informed care and attachment training, alongside Therapeutic social workers and Clinicians to support children and carers in their placements.
  • Collaborate with the Placements team to match and place children requiring foster placements, ensuring maximum use of in-house foster care resources.
  • Support children in foster placements by working with childcare professionals, maintaining communication, and attending meetings.
  • Undertake annual reviews and statutory checks on fostering households within the required timescales, in accordance with Fostering Standards Regulations and guidance.
  • Provide thorough, analytical recordings and reports.
  • Support foster carers in transitioning children to adoptive families.
  • Encourage foster carers to take responsibility for their ongoing professional development.
  • Facilitate support groups and learning opportunities for foster carers.
  • Participate in monthly reflective supervision and individual supervision sessions.
  • Offer therapeutic support to foster carers and children.
  • Work within a therapeutic framework, demonstrating high self-reflection and modeling this for foster carers.
  • Collaborate with Senior Clinicians across Camhs Connect and STF.
  • Develop and facilitate training opportunities for foster carers.
  • Undertake Video Interactive Guidance work with foster carers.
  • Contribute to the support of two Mockingbird hubs.
  • Organize activities for Fostering Families, including beach hut days, activity days at Thorpe Woodlands, and Christmas parties.
