Supervising Social Worker – Fostering Team

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work full time based for an Independent Fostering Agency based in Bexleyheath.
The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is up to £42,000 per annum.

  • Manage a caseload within the framework of supervision to effectively meet the needs of children and foster carers in line with national minimum standards.
  • To ensure that information systems and records are effectively maintained in order to provide up to date and accurate information upon which decisions can be made.
  • To maintain a personal awareness of legislation, agency policies and procedures, acting in line with these to ensure a high quality of service delivery.
  • To attend regular training and compile a portfolio to evidence CPD in line with the professional capabilities framework.
  • To provide the agency with high quality assessments of back up carers, long term matching and ant appropriate assessments within the role.
  • To visit foster carers every two – four weeks and to provide appropriate support to 12/13 families & complete timely monthly reports and upload to database.
  • To undertake annual review meetings and complete a report for the annual review of foster carers and to present to the fostering panel.
  • To attend and participate in case conferences, reviews, planning meetings and any other meetings that may be required and to represent the independent fostering agency at such meetings.
  • To liaise and consult with others involved in the care of the child.
  • To prepare for and undertake monthly visits to foster carers and complete monthly reports and risk assessments as required by the agency, Local Authorities and the courts.
  • To advise children and young people of their rights and to assist them in implementing the complaints procedure as necessary.
  • To work flexibly to accommodate the needs of the panel, support groups and out of hours work as required.
  • To undertake any other duties which may be appropriate depending upon the post holder’s expertise, knowledge, experience and skills, in keeping with the level of responsibility afforded.

Requirements of this role:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Understanding, knowledge and ability to follow guidelines to ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work, Data Protection and other statutory requirements.
  • This post requires registration with the relevant health professional council/governing body (Social Care England).
