Job summary

Five Rivers Child Care Ltd is seeking a part-time Supervising Social Worker to join their Fostering service in Thornaby. You'll play a key role in supporting foster carers and ensuring high-quality care for children. The role requires a formal social work qualification, driving licence, and skills in communication and IT.

The position offers flexible working of 22.5 hours per week, 25 days annual leave, a £4,500 car allowance, professional development support, and many other benefits.

We are looking for a part‑time Supervising Social Worker to join our Fostering service in Thornaby. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our foster carers and improving outcomes for children and young people.

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will provide essential support and supervision to foster carers, ensuring high‑quality care for children within a service committed to achieving positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support foster carers with a manageable caseload, ensuring high levels of supervision and intervention.
• Work within a trauma‑informed practice model, offering therapeutic support and guidance.
• Complete Form F assessments and contribute to care planning and strategy meetings.
• Participate in recruitment activities to attract and assess new foster carers.
• Provide out‑of‑hours support on a rota basis.

Requirements

• Formal Social Work Qualification.

About the Role

• Working pattern: 3 days per week (22.5 hours total)
