Job description
Overview

Assured Fostering is an established family-owned fostering agency that has been successfully registered by Ofsted. We have an office base in Bolton and currently cover the Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside regions and are now developing in the West Yorkshire area. We have invested and worked hard to put in place the resources and structure that will allow us to succeed and develop at a gentle pace, offering support to foster carers and the children that are entrusted to their care. This includes tailored IT / recording systems to support foster carers and the team, policies and procedures that place the emphasis on support, and a hybrid working week that will allow some flexibility for staff. We are now looking for a Supervising Social Worker, preferably who speaks Urdu, to support the Registered Manager in developing the service and supporting foster carers as we grow, maintaining the caring and supportive ethos that the owners want for foster carers, children, and staff. If you want to be involved in shaping and developing a small independent fostering agency and you are looking for a new challenge or change within your social work career, then this role may be of interest to you.

  • Support and monitor the continued suitability and competence of foster carers ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children/young people.
  • Ensure that carers fully understand the fostering task, competencies to be achieved and the standards expected, including complaints and representation procedures as detailed in the Assured Fostering policies and procedures.
  • Provide and record regular supervision to allocated foster carers in line with Assured Fostering’s Operational Standards.
  • Work in partnership with other professionals in supporting foster families and children placed, including contributing to all relevant meetings and any other tasks defined.
  • Promote participation of children/young people in the development of the agency and in accessing resources and opportunities in their local community.
  • Participate in an ‘out of hours’ support service on a rota basis.
  • Undertake occasional initial home visits and Form F Assessments.
Attributes
  • You will be a qualified social worker registered with SWE.
  • Have excellent communication and administrative skills.
  • Be creative and have the drive and ambition to develop a new fostering service.
  • Have experience within the independent fostering sector.
  • Have excellent knowledge of fostering legislation and guidance.
  • Have a full driving licence.
