About the role

As a Team Leader within one of our Waitrose shops, you'll help create a memorable experience for our customers by providing the Partner-led service and passion for food that set us apart. Your dedication to assisting both customers and Partners will enhance the reputation of the Waitrose brand, encouraging customer loyalty and supporting sales and profit growth.

Note: Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.

Additional pay details: You will receive a shift premium for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00, paid at the role's minimum pay rate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the shop's management team with managerial tasks and collaborating across departments to meet customer demand.
  • Ensuring Partners operate safely and legally.
  • Fulfilling online customer orders for delivery.
  • Replenishing stock to maintain full shelves and proper product placement.
  • Supporting team members in various tasks including checkout support, managing Click & Collect orders, and fulfilling customer requests.
  • Driving shop performance with ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Minimizing wastage through product due diligence and markdowns.
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Strong people and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of retail operations and commercial success strategies.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Good stakeholder management skills with third parties and the Partnership.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Duty Manager Training (for internal Partners).

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) across seven nights, including evenings and weekends, between 21:00 and 07:00.
