Job summary

Waitrose & Partners is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver for Banbury to bring quality Waitrose produce and partner-led service to customers’ doors. You will support the shop team when not on the road, including stock replenishment and housekeeping, while maintaining safe driving practices and high customer service standards.

Role includes a Night Premium for night hours and flexible part-time shifts totaling 22.5 hours per week across varied hours.

Qualifications

• Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6-points.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong time management and prioritisation.
• Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (lifting crates, moving cages).
• IT literate and able to use basic tech.

Responsibilities

• Check delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare the van for deliveries and ensure orders reach customers.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks and maintain road compliance.
• Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand with top customer service.
• Assist customers with shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
• Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers' doors. Actively playing out our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers.

When you're not out on the road, you'll be back at the shop supporting the team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping. Contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a friendly and welcoming team.

In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 - 06:00 will attract Night Premium at a rate of £3.75 per hour. This will also apply to existing Partners who have enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.

Due to its nature, you need to be 18-years or older to work in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Checking your delivery routes for the day.
• Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
• Ensuring all of the appropriate vehicle safety checks are complete on your van, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety.
• Being an ambassador for the Waitrose brand while on the road with great customer service as your number one priority.
• Helping customers with their shopping and building a rapport with them based on trust and service.
• Supporting the wider shop team when required with general shopkeeping tasks.

Essential skills/experience you'll need

• Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6-points.
• Great customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (e.g. lifting of crates, moving cages).
• Comfortable working independently with the ability to be self motivated and adaptable.
• IT literate.

Desirable skills/experience you may have

• Previous experience in a driving role and a knowledge of chilled vehicles would be welcomed.

Pay & Contract

Pay: £14.31 Hourly

Contract Type: Temporary

Hours of Work: Varied hours of part time work, across 3 shifts totaling 22.5 hours per week, across seven days to include early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.
