About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers’ doors. When you're not out on the road, you'll support the team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and friendly running of the shop.

Note: You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Start your day in store, checking your delivery routes.
  • Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery.
  • Complete vehicle safety checks, maintaining road compliance and safety standards.
  • Represent the Waitrose brand on the road, prioritizing excellent customer service.
  • Assist customers with shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
  • Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.
Essential skills/experience
  • Valid UK manual driving license (Category B) with no more than 6 points.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks like lifting crates, walking up stairs, and moving cages.
Desirable skills/experience
  • Previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles are a plus, but training will be provided.

Work schedule: 2-week rotation, 22.25 hours per week. Week 1: Mon, Tue, Fri; Week 2: Sun, Mon, Tue, between 05:00 and 22:00. This is a relief driver role working in branch as needed.
