Job description

We're seeking a confident and compassionate leader to take charge of our Maternity Ultrasound Service. As our Superintendent Midwife Sonographer, you'll be the driving force behind a high-performing team, ensuring exceptional imaging standards and heartfelt maternity care.

Your Impact
  1. Strategically plan and manage ultrasound services to meet the needs of the maternity department.
  2. Lead with visibility, compassion, accessibility, and responsiveness.

  4. Drive education, training, governance, and policy development.
  5. Make informed clinical decisions and mentor fellow sonographers.
  6. Perform and report independently on complex obstetric scans.

As the Lead Specialist for the Maternity Ultrasound Service, you will ensure adequate service provision at all times and plan the ultrasound service to meet departmental demands. The post holder will be an experienced Midwife who is high profile, accessible, and responsive as a leader.

You will have experience in patient, staff, service, and resource management. As the department lead, you will ensure the maternity ultrasound team provides an efficient, high-quality imaging service while caring for patients professionally. You will undertake a lead role in education, training, governance, policy review, and development. You will be able to make informed decisions within your scope of practice and support other midwifery sonographers in providing a professional ultrasound service.
