Commercial Construction Superintendent
This position provides supervision for commercial projects. The commercial superintendent will be able to provide the knowledge, skills and experience required to manage the day-to-day field operations of commercial construction activities. Candidates will supervise subcontractors on site and ensure their compliance with plans, specs, and safety requirements. This position reports to and carries out the direction of the Project Manager/Director of Commercial Construction. This position is a forward face of MCC and is responsible for establishing a professional work environment. This means fostering a positive atmosphere, promoting proactive and effective communication, and resolving conflict in a constructive manner.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally performed in outside weather conditions.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
This is an hourly full-time position. The regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and would include overtime hours as required by projects and deadlines.
