Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic in Esher. You’ll join a cluster serving Esher, Kingston, Surbiton and surrounding areas, starting each day with a full plan and a retained on‑road focus. Expect a 40-hour week in a flexible shift pattern, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

You’ll receive a competitive package with a base of £55,869 and potential to £61,000, plus a company van, tools and ongoing training to support your professional growth.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Provide roadside repairs and support to RAC members in needed situations
• Manage and stock your RAC van and toolkit for each shift
• Complete reports accurately for every call-out
• Work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays

About The Role

Join the RAC as a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic

Flexibility deserves recognition – and we deliver. As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic, you’ll provide the adaptability our service relies on.

• Competitive salary:£55,869 basic salary (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance if applicable), with the opportunity to earn up to £61,000
• Weekly variety:You’ll work the on average 40 hours per week across the year, receiving your roster seven days in advance with your core working hours confirmed three days prior.
• Thrive outside of 9-5:Shifts will fall between 06:00 and 02:00, and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Where you’ll work:

You’ll be part of the Esher cluster, covering areas like Esher, Kingston upon Thames, Surbiton, Epsom, Ewell, Tolworth, Chessington, Worcester Park, Sutton, Croydon, Mitcham, Wimbledon.

We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

What you’ll need...
