Job summary

Joelson in London offers a two-week paid vacation scheme to gain real insight into life at a leading law firm. You will rotate through Corporate & Commercial, Real Estate, Employment and Litigation, with interactive workshops led by Marketing and HR.

From 28 June 2027 to 9 July 2027, you will gain client exposure, conduct research, draft documents and receive mentorship. The scheme includes CSR and B Corp seminars, developing ethical commercial awareness and potential training contracts for

Qualifications

• On track to achieve a 2:1 or above in a qualifying law degree or postgraduate conversion course.

Responsibilities

• Observe client meetings and calls to see how our lawyers provide advice in practice.
• Conduct research, draft legal documents and contribute to live matters under supervision.
• Work with a dedicated mentor who will support and guide you throughout the scheme.
• Attend seminars and workshops covering our practice areas, as well as CSR and B Corp commitments.
• Develop an understanding of how we incorporate ethical values into commercial decision-making.
• Build relationships with trainees, associates and partners through structured networking events and informal social activities.
• Receive tailored feedback to help you reflect on your strengths and identify areas for development.
• The vacation scheme forms an important part of our recruitment process for training contracts commencing in September 2028.

Job description

Join our dynamic two-week paid vacation scheme in London and gain valuable insight into life at a leading law firm. You will experience a range of practice areas, including Corporate & Commercial, Real Estate, Employment and Litigation, and take part in interactive workshops with our Marketing and HR teams.

Duration

The vacation scheme is a fixed two-week placement running from 28 June 2027 to 9 July 2027. Please ensure that you are available for the full duration before submitting your application. You will be eligible to be paid a minimum of £545 for each week.

Person Specification

• On track to achieve a 2:1 or above in a qualifying law degree or postgraduate conversion course.
• Eligible to commence a training contract in September 2028, having completed SQE1 and SQE2.
• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in commercial law and a long-term commitment to the legal profession.

• A 45 minute online written assessment;
• A video interview with members of our legal team (taking place in Early March).
