Job description
Overview

Coleg Gwent has an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting A-level learners at the Torfaen Learning Zone to reach their potential. The postholder will work closely with teaching staff to induct learners to the college and provide pastoral guidance and support to the learners throughout their journey so that they excel academically.

Responsibilities
  • Support and proactively monitor targets for a caseload of learners in a pastoral role, including setting targets to ensure high attendance levels, good punctuality, academic progress, and positive attitudes towards learning.
  • Refer to and ensure that Independent Development Plans (IDPs) and additional support needs are secured and monitored.
  • Induct learners to the college and provide ongoing pastoral guidance and support to help them excel academically.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to use the Welsh language at a basic level (or willingness to undertake training) is desirable.

  • Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will not be treated less favourably than applications submitted in English.
  • The College is committed to safeguarding, and employment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) if appropriate.
