About the Role:

As a Substitute Teacher, you will be providing day-to-day and short-term cover across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 settings within local primary schools. This role is ideal for both experienced classroom practitioners looking to enjoy greater flexibility, and qualified teachers seeking to re-engage with education without the demands of long-term planning or assessments.


Substitute Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of primary year groups, ensuring pupil engagement and understanding.
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with the school's policies and ethos.
  • Liaise with support staff and senior leadership as needed to ensure continuity of learning.
  • Provide feedback on pupil progress to class teachers or leadership.
  • Adapt to various school environments while maintaining high standards of professionalism and care.

Substitute Teacher Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Recent teaching experience in a UK primary setting (EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2).
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to adapt quickly to different environments.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to school life and supporting children's learning journey.
  • Have an updated CV (covering thelast ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
