A renowned engineering consulting firm in the UK is seeking an experienced Substation Project Engineer to handle projects up to 400kV. Successful candidates will have a strong background in electrical engineering along with prior transmission experience. This role involves planning, design review, and supporting operational teams while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ Years substation project engineer experience up to 400kV.
• Previous Transmission experience required.
• Proven experience in high-voltage substation design, operation, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Creating outline scope, site location plans, and primary plant layout for new build projects.
• Reviewing contractor/consultants detailed designs and witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing.
• Support site and operational teams to ensure quality of installations.

Job description

Essential Qualifications/skill set required:
- Candidates must be degree qualified electrical engineers to be considered for this role.
- Previous Transmission experience required.
- A minimum of 3+ Years substation project engineer experience up to 400kV
- Proven experience in high-voltage substation design, operation, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in project management
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Creating outline scope, site location plans, primary plant layout and Single Line Diagrams for new
build and asset replacement type projects, operating up to 400kV.
- Reviewing contractor/consultants detailed designs and witnessing Factory Acceptance Testing.
- Implementing safety by design principles to ensure that engineering and safety risks are adequately
controlled.
- Support site and operational teams to ensure the quality of installations, with minimal risk to
Network security.
- Evaluate tenders and procure and manage specialist services from consultants
