Job summary

Barnardo's in the United Kingdom is seeking a Substance Use Worker to deliver evidence-based interventions to children, young people and families affected by parental substance use, across Conwy and Denbighshire. You will work with families in homes, schools, and community venues to reduce risks and promote positive outcomes.

The role involves safeguarding, early intervention, and collaboration with partner agencies, with a focus on the Hidden Harm Programme and Parent Factor Programme.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Hidden Harm Programme to families affected by parental substance use.
• Assess the impact of parental substance use on children and family functioning.
• Provide targeted interventions to reduce negative effects of substance use on children.
• Promote resilience and emotional wellbeing within families.
• Support parents to develop positive parenting skills and strategies.
• Record outcomes and evaluate programme effectiveness.
