Job Title: Substance Misuse Worker
Salary:£28,907 - £30,889 per annum
35 Hours per Week
Location: Tolladine Road/Treetops

Team: Worcester and Malvern/Wyre Forest and Bromsgrove

Supporting Families First is a multi-disciplinary team with the Family Front Door that operates a pod-based way of working with Children in Need within Worcestershire.The primary aim of this innovative way of working is to enable families to create and continue positive change in order to prevent case escalation.

This is an excellent time to join Worcestershire Children Services as we scale up this successful model of working as we move into the Social Work Reforms (Families First) over the next 6 – 12 months.

You will need to have great communication skills, have the ability to work autonomously, be confident talking to a wide range of people, as well as experience of working with people who have drug and alcohol issues. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate substance misuse support to adults and children, you may also be the Lead Professional in the Families First Model. Using harm reduction methodology so individuals can positively change their lives and parents/carers can provide safe care for children.You will be working holistically with service users and arranging access to other services, to assist with practical problems that have been created as a result of substance misuse for example housing, finance or healthcare issues.
