Substance Misuse Recovery Worker - Criminal Justice

The criminal justice team works with people involved in the judicial system, supporting them to lead meaningful lives. This team works closely with the courts, probation, and prisons to support and steer people away from a life of crime and offending, often underpinned by addiction issues.

If you have relevant experience in the substance misuse field and a Level 3 Tackling Substance Misuse qualification or equivalent, we would like to hear from you.

We provide a comprehensive package of accredited courses and support the ASYE programme for newly qualified Social Workers.

PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidate must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK.

Main duties of the job

Manage a caseload involved in the criminal justice system. Support the running of clinics across the service on a rota basis. Support the delivery of harm reduction advice.

Conduct assessments of need and develop care plans to support individuals.

Job responsibilities
  • Conduct risk/need assessments and implement risk management/care plans in line with policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk/need reviews as required by service users.
  • Devise, monitor, review, and update recovery care plans based on service users' needs.
  • Deliver care packages, including psychosocial and psychological interventions where appropriate.
  • Function as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to team meetings as required.
