Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team at HMP Lindholme, a Category C male adult prison based in Doncaster, with an operational capacity of around 900.

Join the Recovery Team and empower individuals who wish to make changes in their behavior to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol. This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients and delivering outstanding care.

This role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts from 8am to 4pm. The salary is up to £32,346 annually, dependent on experience.

Main duties of the job
  • Deliver outstanding, personalized care to psychosocial patients, seeking and acting on their feedback
  • Manage a caseload involving substance misuse, mental health, trauma, etc.
  • Provide psychosocial interventions and assessments
  • Offer information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood-borne viruses, and safe sex practices
  • Prepare patients for release or transfer
  • Conduct both 1-1 and group sessions
  • Assist the healthcare team across pathways as needed
