Job description

At HMP Lowdham Grange we provide a fully integrated healthcare service, delivering care to sentenced prisoners that is equivalent to that in the community.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team and lead our psychosocial team to offer a range of therapeutic interventions to those individuals with substance misuse issues.

This is an exciting time to be part of the Offender Health Team.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

To be responsible for taking a lead role in providing effective therapeutic substance misuse recovery services.

As senior substance misuse practitioner within a multi-disciplinary team in a prison setting, you will be required to offer care to patients with complex substance misuse problems, many with co-occurring mental health issues, from the point of entry into the prison system to re-entry into the community so that re-offending is reduced and the health and social functioning of the individual is improved.

You will be expected to deliver high quality and compassionate care through appropriate assessment, formulation, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic interventions for men with substance misuse problems working to both harm reduction and health promotion / recovery agendas.

To provide leadership to a team of staff by maintaining professional standards, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures, and to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
