We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Risley, a category C Prison located in Warrington.
HMP Risley works with foreign nationals and a resettlement male prison with a population of 1030.
We are looking for someone who has experience within substance misuse.
The site has:

Hours:
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday - Friday
- 7.30am - 8.45pm (flexible timings)
- Some weekends when required
This position is full time, with an annual salary up to £33,232 - £40,211 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritising patient care, and developing individualised care packages through assessments and recovery planning
- Delivering a range of treatment options, including clinical and psychosocial interventions in group and 1-1 settings, focusing on recovery
- Carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing recovery plans, and communicating treatment options to service users
- Monitoring responses to medication, liaising with prescribers, and providing advice and information to individuals
- Supporting group work delivery and liaising with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions, including occasional dispensing support
- Understanding and committing to a recovery and person-centred approach

- Registered nurse with current NMC registration - Adult
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
- RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake
- Experience working with opiate-dependent patients
- Strong clinical knowledge of substance misuse
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
Preferred but not essential: experience in hospital, community, or prison settings.
