To work within the Specialist Substance Misuse service / The Level (in-patient detox unit). Providing specialist health assessments, prescribing assessments, formulation, and a wide range of clinical interventions for adults living within Nottingham City Centre / admitted into The Level presenting with substance/alcohol misuse problems and who meet the referral criteria of the core areas of business.
This will be done by working as part of an effective team and providing flexible substance/alcohol misuse assessments and interventions within various community settings.
They will be responsible for completing specialist health assessments and developing a wide range of psychosocial and/or pharmacological treatment plans as an autonomous practitioner across the breadth of the Substance Misuse service.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), which will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

The post holder will be a member of the substance misuse team, which is part of the Specialist Services Directorate. Responsibilities include providing specialist health assessments, hypotheses, diagnosis, and interventions for service users accessing the substance misuse service.
The role requires close liaison with a broad range of disciplines and agencies, including health, social services, and voluntary organizations. The post holder works autonomously within professional guidelines and the team's policies and procedures. Supervision will be provided by the Team Lead, with clinical supervision and prescribing supervision from the team's consultant in addictions.
They will be expected to share prescribing information, evidence, and rationale for prescribing decisions.

Working Practice
The post holder will be an independent prescriber within the Substance Misuse Team, providing specialist assessments, formulation, and clinical interventions to adults over 18 accessing the service or admitted into The Level.
They will provide a highly specialist mental health prescribing service, managing cases safely within a nursing and non-medical prescribing framework, ensuring all investigations are in line with guidelines, and discussing treatment options with service users.
They will develop highly specialised treatment plans, manage risks according to guidelines, and provide a holistic, flexible, and responsive service that promotes social inclusion and reduces stigma.
Education and Development
The role involves receiving regular supervision, attending training, participating in team meetings, and contributing to staff training and policy development.
