  • Work collaboratively with academic, technical and student support colleagues to maintain a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
  • Maintain professional networks and engage with current design practice to ensure teaching reflects industry standards and innovation.
  • Contribute to budgets for teaching materials and equipment, monitoring expenditure within agreed limits.
  • Represent West Dean at selected external events and conferences, promoting our design programmes and reputation.
About you

You will have a strong background in design, combining professional knowledge with a passion for teaching and supporting students to achieve their potential.

You will be confident delivering engaging learning experiences, developing curriculum content and providing constructive feedback. You will also be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the ongoing development and promotion of our programmes.

Essential requirements

  • Experience developing teaching and learning materials.
  • Experience of student assessment and providing clear, supportive feedback.
  • Experience of supporting student recruitment and admissions in higher education.
  • Knowledge of contemporary design practice and the skills required for employment in the sector.
  • The ability to plan and organise teaching and communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
  • Competence in relevant digital design tools, including AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A professional, flexible and supportive approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
