Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND school in Mansfield to recruit a dedicated Maths Tutor on a permanent basis. The role focuses on delivering Functional Skills and GCSE Mathematics to pupils with SEND, with planning and adapting resources to meet individual learning needs.

The school emphasises high-quality, individualised education and supports pupils to build confidence, independence and academic progress. Immediate start is available in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Able to teach pupils aged 16 and above.
• Relevant Mathematics-related qualification; teaching qualification desirable.
• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and GCSE Mathematics.
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND in specialist/alternative settings.
• Ability to plan, differentiate and adapt lessons and resources to meet individual needs.
• Strong classroom management; assess and monitor pupil progress.
• Excellent communication, patience and resilience for learners with additional needs.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Maths Tutor on a permanent basis at their Main Campus, delivering Functional Skills and GCSE Mathematics to pupils with SEND. The successful Maths Tutor will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, adapting teaching resources to meet individual learning needs, monitoring pupil progress and supporting learners to achieve positive educational outcomes.

The successful Maths Tutor will have:

• Be able to teach children aged 16
• A relevant qualification in Mathematics, Education or a related subject, with a teaching qualification desirable
• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and GCSE Mathematics
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND within a specialist or alternative education setting
• A proven ability to plan, differentiate and adapt lessons and resources to meet individual learning needs
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to assess, monitor and support pupil progress
• Excellent communication skills, patience, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
