Progress Teachers are working closely with local Mainstream Secondary Schools to appoint subject specialist Cover Supervisors across a range of subjects (English, Science, Technology, Humanities etc.) for full-time roles to commence ASAP.


This is the perfect opportunity for those who have stepped out of teaching but still wish to work within an educational setting, or those with prior cover supervision experience who are looking to specialise in their specific subject area.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Supervision: Effectively manage classrooms in the absence of teachers, ensuring a focused and purposeful learning environment.
  2. Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to students, maintaining the continuity of learning and following school policies.
  3. Behaviour Management: Consistently implement the school's behaviour management policies to promote an atmosphere conducive to learning.
  4. Personalised Support: Offer support to individual students or small groups as needed, ensuring that they can access learning effectively.
  5. Communication: Maintain clear communication with colleagues regarding student progress, behaviour, and any issues that may arise during the day.
  6. Administration: Complete necessary administrative tasks, such as registering attendance, and reporting any incidents or concerns to the relevant colleagues.
  7. Professional Development: Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated on school policy and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  2. Previous experience working in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Flexibility and adaptability to work in different subject areas.
  5. Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
  6. A DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain.
