Subject Leader Geography

Location:

Sutton Coldfield

Salary:

£31,650 - £49,084 plus TLR 46132

Hours:

32.5 hours per week

The Role

To raise standards of student attainment and progress in Geography, overseeing a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum. The postholder will also enhance teaching practices, lead, manage, and develop the subject area.

Key Responsibilities

  2. Promote good student outcomes through well-structured lessons.
  3. Demonstrate strong subject and curriculum knowledge.
  4. Adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of students.

  6. Maintain high standards of personal and professional conduct in wider responsibilities.
Skills and Qualifications
  1. 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent.
  2. A degree or equivalent qualification.
  3. Qualified Teacher Status.
  4. Focus on standards and positive outcomes.
  5. Adaptability to various situations and individuals.
  6. Experience handling sensitive and confidential student information.
  7. Ability to deliver 'good or outstanding' lessons.
  8. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  9. Understanding of how children learn and motivation techniques.
  10. Experience following procedures and instructions.
