Role: Subject Access Officer (Business Development)

Contract Status: Temporary, up to 18 months
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to work for the largest local authority in Scotland, in partnership with the NHS, to help ensure the data rights of our service users, past and present.
The Complaints, Freedom of Information (FOI) and Investigations Team (CFIT) within the Business Development section of Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) handles complaints administration and responses, FOI responses, and duties under the Data Protection Act 2018, including providing guidance on Data Protection matters.
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join a new temporary specialist team within CFIT for up to 18 months. This role offers a rare opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in UK data protection legislation and learn about Social Work Services, while positively impacting vulnerable people's lives.
Reporting directly to a Senior Officer, you will be responsible for managing Subject Access Requests received by Social Work Services. This includes collecting, collating, reviewing, and redacting highly sensitive documentation in accordance with Data Protection legislation, to help the service meet statutory response times.
Candidates should have experience related to Data Protection work, with knowledge to support interpretation and application of Data Protection laws. Knowledge of Social Work Services and related legislation would be advantageous but is not essential.
Ideal candidates should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to communicate effectively and confidently.
This role is perfect for someone eager to expand their expertise in data protection. You will be a vital part of a specialist team dedicated to safeguarding the rights of individuals involved with Social Work Services, gaining valuable experience and skills to support career progression in Data Protection.
These roles are exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 2nd June 2025.
