Due to significant growth across our Transmission and Distribution UK business, Wood is seeking a Subcontracts Engineer. We are open to applications from across the UK to be based at any of our main offices on a hybrid working basis, and we will also consider remote working.

The Role

Reporting to the Subcontracts Lead, this role will be responsible for executing subcontract activities with the goal of ensuring successful project outcomes in line with project requirements.

Expected:

  • Degree or Diploma in relevant engineering fields (civil, building, mechanical, E&I, or equivalent), Quantity Surveying (QS), or Legal background
  • Experience in contracting/subcontracting works, preferably within Power, Construction, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, or Chemical industries. Relevant experience from other industries will also be considered depending on qualifications and similarities
  • Effective communication skills with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Local knowledge of the area and suppliers
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract terms, including flow head contract terms
  • Knowledge of NEC Construction Contracts is desirable but not essential
