Job description

Job Title: Sub-Project Manager - Construction

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Circa £48,000 - depending on skills & experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing major construction project lifecycles in line with the Facilities master plan
  • Forecasting, controlling, reporting against all commercial aspects of the project from concept to completion
  • Discharging client duties in accordance with Regulatory requirements
  • Maintaining and managing a safety-focused environment and culture aligned with the high-risk nature of the projects
  • Providing focus to drive projects and work packages
  • Liaising with contractors and multiple stakeholders across all levels of the business

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience managing complex, major projects of multi-million-pound value
  • Experience in the construction of MEICA projects
  • Recognised Project Management qualification (e.g. Prince2 or APMQ) or equivalent experience
  • HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar

Desirable:

  • Project management experience with development of plans, business cases and Risk management processes

The Programme and Delivery Infrastructure team:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the LEV Programme at Barrow-in-Furness. The programme involves upgrading LEV systems to modern standards, improving the work environment for current and future teams. You'll be joining a developing team where you'll expand your skillset and gain exposure across the wider business. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
