Are you an experienced subcontractor supervisor with a strong background in building services and a minimum IOSH Managing Safely qualification? We're looking for a proactive, safety-focused leader to join our team and take ownership of subcontractor coordination on-site.
About The Role
As a Subcontractor Supervisor, you'll be the key point of contact for managing subcontractors on-site — ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You'll play a crucial role in driving site progress, upholding health & safety standards, and coordinating complex building services installations.
- Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate subcontractor activities across site operations
- Ensure all works comply with drawings, specifications, and safety standards
- Conduct daily site checks, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
- Monitor progress and report issues to the Project/Site Manager
- Review and manage subcontractor RAMS (risk assessments & method statements)
- Maintain site records, permits, and daily reports
- Coordinate building services with engineers and contractors
- Promote a positive health & safety culture aligned with IOSH Managing Safely principles
What We're Looking For
IOSH Managing Safely qualification (essential)
Strong experience supervising subcontractors in a construction/building services setting
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems - a technical qualification would be beneficial
Excellent understanding of site safety and compliance procedures
Ability to read technical drawings and manage site documentation
Strong communication and leadership skills
Desirable
SSSTS or SMSTS certification
HNC/NVQ in Building Services or Construction Management
First Aid at Work certification
Experience on commercial, industrial, or public sector projects
