The main purpose of this role within the Procurement organisation is to provide Subcontract Management support to Leonardo Sensors Line of Business. It involves all aspects of Subcontract Management, from assessing suppliers through award, delivery, acceptance, and closure of subcontracts, ensuring compliance with internal and external Governance and Legislation.

The role will see the candidate act as a focal point for Procurement activities while operating within demanding cross-functional Integrated Project Teams (ITPs).

Key Responsibility Areas:

  1. Provide procurement governance and leadership within the Bid/Project business areas.
  2. Offer senior Procurement leadership and management to business area IPTs for effective Life Cycle Management (Tender Vet, Phase Reviews, CSR’s, etc.) and to achieve delivery and margin goals for projects.
  3. Apply Procurement and Subcontract best practices and processes.
  4. Strategic supplier/partner selection and development. Ownership of supplier performance, relationships, and the material budget.
  5. Prepare, negotiate, and implement partnership, subcontract, teaming, or non-disclosure agreements, ensuring full commercial protection. Manage export applications/approvals, ITAR, TAA procedures.
  6. Manage complex supply chains and support Scope of Work creation to ensure baseline understanding and work packages for suppliers.
  7. Project manage new and existing supply chains, ensuring clarity of outputs and schedules throughout the project.
  8. Manage the supply cash flow in line with customer payments and address any slippages.
  9. Act as the focal point for monthly reporting, milestone monitoring, and remedial actions, owning the Project Supply Chain.
  10. Assess the need for subcontracts, identify potential suppliers, raise NDAs, issue RFIs, and review supplier capabilities.
  11. Challenge project bid team assumptions and ensure procurement data accuracy, including supplier conformance, lead times, exchange rates, quotation validity, and export restrictions.
  12. Develop and approve RFQ packs for selected suppliers, including Statement of Work, Technical Requirements Specification, and subcontract terms.
  13. Assess tender responses and undertake source selection.
  14. Manage subcontract negotiations to meet project needs.
  15. Award subcontracts to the preferred supplier with clear delivery objectives.
  16. Develop procurement and risk management plans.
  17. Approve milestone claims upon achievement.
  18. Maintain and close subcontracts upon project completion.
  19. Mediating supply chain conflicts against contractual objectives.
  20. Drive supply chain performance to ensure on-time delivery and accurate SAP reflection.
