Job summary

Pinnacle Recruitment is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join a major Civil Contractor on a multi-million pound project near Redcar, England. The contract is for approximately 24 months with potential regional work thereafter.

The successful candidate will lead on-site technical delivery, safety, and quality across civils works including highways, earthworks, tunnelling or rail-related packages. You will have a proven track record on civils schemes and will work with a team to drive progress,

Qualifications

• MEng, BEng, Foundation Degree, or BTEC in Civil Engineering required.
• CSCS card holder required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main technical adviser on site for subcontractors and the wider workforce.
• Develop safe systems of work, method statements and quality documentation (ITPs/QRPs).
• Produce, monitor and control budgets for sections of work scope.
• Ensure materials and works comply with specifications.
• Oversee selection and requisition of materials.
• Manage and interpret contract drawings and documents.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, planners and QS.
• Attend progress meetings and supervise site labour and subcontractors.
• Plan work and organise plant and site facilities to meet deadlines.
• Oversee quality control and health and safety on site.
• Prepare reports and resolve technical issues.

Education

Civil Engineering degree (MEng/BEng/Foundation/BTEC)

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Sub Agent to work for a major Civil Contractor who works across the UK specializing in a variety of Civil engineering sectors varying in value. The role will be based near Redcar, on a multi million pound project, with a duration of c24 months with further work within the region to follow on.

My Client is looking for someone to join them the work on this project and in return will offer future progression and development within the industry.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working on civils schemes, either within heavy civils, tunnelling, earthworks, highways or rail infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• act as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople and operatives within your area of responsibility.
• develop safe systems of work, method statements and quality documentation; ITPs, QRPs and the like.
• produce, monitor and control budgets for sections of work scope.
• ensure that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications
• oversee the selection and requisition of materials
• manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents
• liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
• attending regular progress meetings to inform the wider team
• carry out day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force, junior site engineers and the work of any subcontractors in area of responsibility
• plan the work and efficiently organise the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines
• oversee quality control and health and safety matters on site
• prepare reports as required
• resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

Required Qualifications / Expertise

• MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC/ Degree in Civil Engineering
• CSCS
