Job description

We are currently seeking a Section Engineer / Sub Agent to work for a Civil Contractor who works across the UK specializing in a variety of Civil/marine/environmental engineering sectors with a primary focus on marine and flood defence. Role will be based in Hampshire with the candidate expected to travel intermittently across the Southern region.


Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Project Manager in the execution of their duties and management of smaller construction contracts.
  2. Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors.
  3. Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments, and project management plans.
  4. Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets.
  5. Preparing and monitoring programme of work.
  6. Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors.
  7. Manage design co-ordination.
  8. Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion of contracts.
  9. Inform, consult, and involve local groups as necessary.
  10. Maintain good relations and reputation with clients.

You should be:
  1. A good communicator with the ability to instruct and direct staff.
  2. A good organiser, both of self and others, with the ability to think in advance.
  3. Experienced in people management and motivation of staff.
