Job Title: Sub Agent

We are seeking a Sub Agent to join our Natural Resources team, based near our sites across the Thames Valley region, initially focusing on a site in Culham, Oxfordshire. Due to the nature of the work, we require a candidate with strong skills and experience within Tier 1 Water and Civils frameworks.

Contract

Permanent, full-time position. Flexible and part-time hours may be available upon request.

Responsibilities

As a Sub Agent, you will join Kier, a strategic partner to Thames Water Capital Frameworks. Your work will be on their sewage treatment Waste Asset Assurance Programme (WAAP), delivering programs within non-infrastructure schemes such as upgrades to wastewater treatment works. You will work on both new and existing infrastructure assets (below ground) and non-infrastructure assets (above ground). Your role is vital in supporting the Site Agent/Project Manager in managing and delivering specific sections or packages of work on construction projects. This includes liaising with subcontractors, supervising workforce, ensuring safety compliance, and contributing to project success.

• Manage subcontractors, coordinate site activities, monitor performance, and ensure safety compliance.
• Supervise workforce, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure quality standards are met.
• Conduct regular site inspections, enforce health and safety regulations, and identify hazards.
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure work standards and specifications are followed.
• Assist with commercial forecasting, control costs, and participate in forecast reviews and cost/value analysis with the commercial team.

What are we looking for?

This role is ideal if you have:

• Experience working on capital projects with knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
• Basic understanding of setting out and surveying equipment.
• Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Certificate.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
