Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Sub Agent to support a £100m+ highways project in Leiston, Suffolk. You will assist the Site Agent and Project Manager to deliver works safely, on time and within budget.

You will oversee day-to-day delivery, plan and monitor progress, manage multiple work packages with the commercial team, and build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. We value safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • HNC or higher in Engineering or equivalent required.
  • SMSTS and CSCS qualifications preferred.
  • Strong commitment to safety and site culture.
  • Ability to read drawings and programme information.
  • Well organised with multi-tasking ability.

Responsibilities

Job description

Location - Leiston, Suffolk

As a Sub Agent based on our £100m+ major highways project in Leiston, you will assist the Site Agent and Project Manager in order to successfully deliver the works.

You will be expected to achieve the required project delivery, in line with the customer’s objectives while maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control.

What you will be doing:
  • Help create and maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive working environment for everyone on site
  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of a section of works, supporting and guiding site teams and subcontractors
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor progress to keep work on track and aligned with project goals
  • Manage multiple work packages, working collaboratively with the commercial team on costs and performance
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with clients and stakeholders, attending meetings and sharing updates
  • Contribute to reporting, cost forecasting, valuations and overall project performance
  • Support teams to work to the latest designs, ensuring materials, RAMS, permits and documentation are in place
  • Promote quality, safety and continuous improvement through regular checks, problem-solving and developing others
About you:
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to working safely and supporting a positive, inclusive site culture
  • Able to understand and work with drawings, specifications and programme information
  • Well organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively
  • Confident working collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors, designers and clients
  • Brings relevant technical knowledge and qualifications (e.g. HNC or higher in Engineering, SMSTS and relevant CSCS)
