Job summary

Kenton Black Limited is recruiting an experienced Sub Agent to join a well-established civil engineering contractor on a major infrastructure project in the East Midlands. The role focuses on delivering allocated work packages, coordinating site teams and subcontractors, and ensuring works meet drawings, specifications and programme requirements.

Candidates should have a strong highways and heavy civil engineering background with reinforced concrete experience, RAMS/ITPs knowledge, and

• Experience delivering highways and heavy civil engineering projects.
• Strong ability to coordinate subcontractors and site teams.
• Solid understanding of drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and quality standards in construction.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate day-to-day site activities across highways and civil engineering packages.
• Oversee reinforced concrete works including formwork, reinforcement and pours.
• Coordinate site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and operatives.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Monitor progress against the programme and address delays or issues.
• Ensure compliance with RAMS, ITPs and relevant construction documentation.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractor requirements.
• Liaise with the Site Agent, Project Manager and wider delivery team.
• Maintain accurate site records and provide regular progress updates.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sub Agent to join a well-established civil engineering contractor on a major infrastructure project in the East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and technically capable individual with a strong background in highways, heavy civils and reinforced concrete (RC) structures. You will take responsibility for the successful delivery of allocated work packages, coordinating site teams, subcontractors and resources to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.,

• Manage and coordinate day-to-day site activities across highways and civil engineering packages.
• Oversee reinforced concrete works, including formwork, reinforcement and concrete pours.
• Coordinate site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and operatives.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Monitor progress against programme and proactively address any delays or issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Review and implement RAMS, ITPs and relevant construction documentation.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractor requirements.
• Liaise with the Site Agent, Project Manager and wider delivery team.
• Maintain accurate site records and provide regular progress updates.
• Previous experience working as a Sub Agent, Section Engineer or in a similar civil engineering delivery role.
• Strong background in highways and heavy civil engineering.
• Demonstrable experience delivering reinforced concrete structures.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and setting out requirements.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site teams.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures and construction quality standards.
• SMSTS and relevant CSCS qualification.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
