Job description

BAM Infrastructure is seeking an experienced and motivated Sub Agent to join our ASTI onshore team. You will play a key role in delivering large civil engineering projects that provide critical infrastructure for future renewable developments across Scotland. The position requires initial work from our area office in Kilsyth (Glasgow) for 6 to 12 months, with flexible hybrid options before moving to site to deliver the project.

Your mission

As a Sub Agent, your responsibilities will include:

• Setting a personal example in health, safety, and environmental matters by ensuring compliance with company policies through method statements, risk assessments, and briefings.
• Managing, supervising, and mentoring section, site, and assistant engineers to ensure high standards of engineering control and proper record generation.
• Maintaining good relationships with RE staff and the supply chain.
• Promoting a cost-conscious attitude through efficient use of resources.
• Supporting the agent in operating the cost management system, producing programmes, and preparing QF.
• Communicating with commercial staff to ensure timely preparation of records for measurement and payment.
• Promoting the use of BIM technologies to meet project BIM Execution Plan requirements.
• Ensuring adequate work preparation and resource availability through communication with the general foreman.
• Assisting in procuring materials, sub-contracts, and plant in a timely manner.
• Reviewing performance, development, and training needs of subordinate staff, including addressing underperformance or potential resignations.
• Advising the agent of any potential commercial or contractual liabilities.

Who are we looking for?

The following are mandatory requirements:

• Degree or HND in Engineering or equivalent.
• CSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager.
• SSSTS certification.
• Successful experience and performance at Section Engineer level.
